Insight
Get to know the wine
The Amarone della Valpolicella 2006 produced by the Dal Forno Romano winery is born in the Val d'Illasi, in the heart of Valpolicella.
The winery is considered one of the most prestigious of the appellation and revolutionised the style of Amarone with an extremely rigorous approach to grape selection and vinification.
The Corvina, Rondinella, Oseleta and Croatina grapes are hand-harvested and undergo the traditional appassimento (drying) process, which concentrates aromas and structure.
The 2006 vintage was particularly favourable in the Veneto, producing wines of great richness and balance.
Fermentation and long ageing in barrique help develop aromatic depth and structure. The result is a powerful yet refined Amarone, capable of evolving magnificently for many years. An iconic wine highly sought after by enthusiasts and collectors.
