Insight
Get to know the wine
The Batard-Montrachet Grand Cru 2013 from Domaine Leflaive is born from 1.91 hectares in 4 parcels on clay-limestone
soil, with vines planted between 1962 and 1989. The vinification is rigorous: long, gentle pneumatic
pressing, 24-hour settling, then the must into barrique for alcoholic fermentation (25% new).
After 12 months in wood, 6 months in vat for stabilisation before bottling. Homeopathic
fining.
The 2013 in Burgundy produced elegant, taut whites of great longevity. Leflaive's Batard-Montrachet 2013 is
austere and very closed in its youthful phase: lemon, pear, minerality and an imposing
structure that will still require years to unfold. To drink from 2025, at its best 2028-2040.
Sommelier's note
“"Compressed lemon, apple and mineral in an austere and very taut bouquet. On the palate it is intense, lean and focused on the entry with growing depth. Lively acidity that drives the long finish, where spices and minerality persist. Still closed, at its best from 2025 to 2040."”
