Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru 2013
Domaine Bonneau du Martray is the largest owner of Corton-Charlemagne with 9 contiguous hectares at Pernand-Vergelesses. The 2013 is a vintage of great elegance and cutting acidity - less opulent than the 2006 but of exceptional tension and structure. Biodynamics across the whole domaine since 2004. Bonneau du Martray's Corton-Charlemagne demands great patience: its crystalline minerality opens fully only after 10-15 years.

Insight
Get to know the wine
Bonneau du Martray's Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru 2013 comes from the property's 9 hectares on the Montagne de Corton, entirely farmed biodynamically since 2004.
The 2013 in Burgundy was a cool vintage of good acidity, with reduced yields due to flowering problems. The profile is austere and mineral, far more introverted than the 2006: it needs time to open but has an imposing structure.
A wine still closed and developing: apple, citrus, limestone minerality over a taut, precise palate.
Over time it will develop hazelnut, toasted almond and spices - the typical signature of mature Corton-Charlemagne. To be cellared at least until 2028 before opening.
Sommelier's note
“"Crisp apple and pear giving way to apricot, grapefruit and a buttery note of coconut. On the palate it is full and fleshy, enlivened by bright acidity and a limestone mineral grip that sustains a long, structured finish. 'Quietly elegant Grand Cru' - to be drunk from 2025, at its best 2028-2040."”
