Insight

Get to know the wine

The Moscato d'Asti Crivella 2011 Magnum by Mongioia is born from almost century-old vines in the Crivella cru at

Santo Stefano Belbo, on soils rich in white clay — the most suitable soil for Moscato Bianco

of the Asti area. Each cru is vinified on its own. After a very delicate pressing in the shortest possible time from

the harvest, spontaneous fermentation takes place with indigenous yeasts selected from the vineyard in a steel

autoclave. Ageing in upright bottle. The low alcohol content (5% vol) and the natural acidity ensure

a surprising longevity for a Moscato d'Asti.

The 2011 was a warm vintage in Piedmont: the Moscato ripened with great sugar and aromatic

concentration. The Crivella 2011 still today expresses aromatic fullness and an intact sweetness,

balanced by the freshness typical of old vines on white clay. In the Magnum format it evolves

even more slowly.

Sommelier's note

"Straw yellow with golden reflections. Intense and complex bouquet of white peach, apricot, white-fleshed fruit, elderflower and citrus notes. On the palate sweet but never cloying, with lively acidity that perfectly balances the natural sweetness. Finish of great persistence. The Magnum allows a slower and more harmonious evolution — ideal for lovers of large formats."
