Argonne Grand Cru 2008
Argonne is the prestige cuvee of Henri Giraud: Pinot Noir Grand Cru from Ay, aged in oak barrels from the Argonne forest. 2008 in Champagne is the greatest vintage of the decade. Sébastien Le Golvet, Chef de cave since 2004, is regarded as the 'wizard of wood.' Cork stopper — not the standard metal crown cap.

Insight
Get to know the wine
Henri Giraud's Argonne Grand Cru 2008 is made from predominantly Pinot Noir sourced from the finest lieux-dits of the Ay Grand Cru. Aged 12+ months in 228 L futs de chene from the Argonne forest (50% new). Cork stopper.
Aged >3 years on the lees. Dosage 5 g/l. Ay is one of the most celebrated Grand Crus of Champagne. Henri Giraud is the quintessential ambassador of this terroir: every bottle tells the story of the chalk of Ay and the wood of Argonne.
Sommelier's note
“"Powerful ripe fruit, smoky and balsamic notes typical of Argonne, blackcurrant, oriental spices and saline minerality from Ay. Full bodied, with the structure of a great wine. The oak is perfectly integrated. Finish of great length with spiced echoes. Drink now, at its best 2026-2040."”
