Brut Grand Cru Ambonnay
Marie-Noelle Ledru is the 'Dame du Pinot Noir' — the standard-bearer of Pinot Noir in the Grand Cru of Ambonnay. A vigneronne-récoltante, she personally oversees every stage: hand-harvesting, fermentation with indigenous yeasts in steel, ageing for a minimum of 48 months on the lees, dégorgement à la volée. Retired with the 2016 vintage — her bottles are today an extremely rare work of art.

Insight
Get to know the wine
Marie-Noelle Ledru's Brut Grand Cru is born from Pinot Noir 85% and Chardonnay 15% from estate-owned vineyards in Ambonnay and Bouzy, vines 30-40 years old. Strictly organic: no insecticides nor herbicides. Fermentation with indigenous yeasts in steel.
Ageing for a minimum of 48 months on the lees. Dégorgement à la volée, by hand. No filtration.
Marie-Noelle Ledru worked from 1984 with an extreme artisanal approach. Every operation carried out by hand. Having retired with the 2016 vintage — every bottle is today a historical document.
Sommelier's note
“"Pungent notes of pear, apple, ginger and honey, hints of redcurrant and toasted fruit. Powerful structure with intense chalky mineral notes. An austere, dry sip of great volume — a Champagne that 'calls for food.' The Pinot Noir of Ambonnay in its purest expression."”
