Get to know the wine
Barolo Monfortino 2014 Magnum is the emblematic Riserva of the historic Serralunga d’Alba winery and one of the absolute benchmarks of Barolo. Made from pure Nebbiolo and produced only in vintages deemed worthy, it is a wine conceived for a very long evolution over time.
Since 1978 it has been made exclusively from a selection of the best grapes of Vigna Francia, interpreted through traditional vinification with prolonged macerations and long maturation in large casks, for about six years before bottling. A rigorous style, faithful to the history of the territory.
On the nose it expresses great finesse and depth, with aromas of rose and violet, ripe cherry and delicate notes of undergrowth, in a complex bouquet that defines itself slowly in the glass.
On the palate it is deep, precise and monumental, with dense yet noble tannins, an impeccable structure and an extremely long persistence. A wine for great occasions and for collecting, Monfortino 2014 is made for the cellar and for those who wish to follow the evolution of a legendary Barolo over the decades.
