Bonnes-Mares Grand Cru 2022
Domaine Comte Georges de Vogue is the largest owner of Bonnes-Mares with 2.6 hectares entirely on the terres rouges - the ferruginous clay that gives the wine a more powerful structure and character than the other crus of Chambolle. Founded in 1450, it is one of the great absolute references of Burgundy. The 2022 is a rich, sensual vintage, of great generosity of fruit. JS 98.

Domaine Comte Georges de Vogue's Bonnes-Mares Grand Cru 2022 comes from the domaine's 2.6 hectares located entirely in the Chambolle section of Bonnes-Mares, on terres rouges - deep red ferruginous clays. The parcels, planted between 1945 and 1995, are organically farmed.
Winemaker Francois Millet has worked at the domaine since 1986 and adapts the vinification each year to the character of the vintage: soft pressing, pre-fermentation cold maceration, fermentation with a variable whole-cluster component, ageing in French oak barriques with 35-40% new wood.
The 2022 in Burgundy was a warm, generous vintage, with ripe fruit and silky tannins.
Vogue's Bonnes Mares expresses an unusual sensuality in this harvest: richer and more opulent than usual, while maintaining the structural signature and saline minerality typical of the terres rouges. To be drunk from 2027, at its best within 2045.
Sommelier's note
“"Cherries and raspberries with exotic notes and sweet undergrowth. Medium-full body, layered, fleshy and concentrated. Well-integrated tannins, lively acidity and a long, saline finish, with returns of rose. A style more sensual than in previous years. James Suckling: 'at the upper limit of medium-bodied - a huge wave of salty minerality at the finish makes this an almost overwhelming expression of beauty.' JS 98 · JM 97 · Decanter 96 · WA 95."”
