Musigny Grand Cru 2016

Annata 20160.75L13.5%Musigny Grand Cru AOC

Musigny is the most elegant and feminine Grand Cru of Burgundy — just 10.7 hectares at Chambolle-Musigny, compared by critics to Romanée-Conti for grace and finesse. Lucien Le Moine selects a single barrique of this extraordinary wine. The 2016 is one of the greatest vintages of the last decades for the whole of Burgundy: ripe fruit, preserved acidity, silky tannins.

Insight

Get to know the wine

The Musigny Grand Cru 2016 by Lucien Le Moine is one of the maison's rarest expressions: a

single barrique of this legendary Grand Cru, aged with obsessive care on fine lees. Mounir

Saouma describes his Musigny as a wine with deep roots in the rock — great minerality,

little tannin and apparent acidity, with an almost imperceptible attack that extends into a finish of

extraordinary persistence.

The 2016 expresses a dark, concentrated profile that is still very primary: it will require patience but will repay it

abundantly. Ready to open no earlier than 2026 with generous decanting, at its best between 2030 and

2050.

Sommelier's note

"Black raspberry, blackcurrant, violets and dark chocolate. Dense, concentrated and pure with saline minerality that pierces the finish. Noble tannins that envelop without weighing down, endless persistence. Vinous: 'superb sweetness, still very primary — noble tannins spread out to saturate the palate without leaving any impression of weight.' Drink from 2026, at its best 2030-2050."
