Barolo Brunate 2012
Brunate is Roberto Voerzio's signature cru: a vineyard straddling the villages of La Morra and Barolo, with an East-South-East exposure, celebrated for producing Nebbiolo of extraordinary perfume, layered complexity and an elegant tannic structure that recalls Burgundy more than Piedmont. In 2012 — a warm and generous vintage in the Langhe — Voerzio crafts a splendid version for power, finesse and immediacy of drinking.

Insight
Get to know the wine
Roberto Voerzio's Barolo Brunate 2012 comes from one of the most prestigious crus in the entire appellation, located between La Morra and Barolo. A historic vineyard, characterised by calcareous-clay marls and an East-South-East exposure, capable of producing Nebbiolo of extraordinary aromatic finesse and depth.
The 2012 vintage, warm and generous, finds in Voerzio an impeccable interpreter: the very low yield and the meticulous work in the vineyard yield a wine of great concentration yet perfectly balanced.
Vinification is carried out in an essential manner, with spontaneous fermentations and long ageing across wood, steel and bottle, without filtration.
On the nose it expresses itself with layered elegance: dried strawberry, plum, blackcurrant and rose interweave with deeper notes of tobacco, aromatic herbs and ash. On the palate it is full and expansive, with silky tannins and a lively acidity that accompanies a long, enveloping finish.
A Barolo already gratifying today, but destined to evolve harmoniously for many years.
Sommelier's note
“Voerzio's Brunate 2012 is a Barolo of great character and layered complexity: deep garnet-red, an elegant nose of dried strawberries, blackcurrant, plum, fresh roses, tobacco, aromatic herbs, tar and cigar ash. On the palate it is full and expansive, powerful without aggressiveness, with fine, soft tannins, lively acidity and a warm, long, persistent finish. Already splendid today, it will continue to evolve until 2030 and beyond.”
