Chateau Latour 2007
Chateau Latour is the most 'masculine' of the Bordeaux First Growths — powerful structure, deep tannins, extraordinary longevity. The 2007 in Pauillac was a year of great selection and Latour, with its 80 hectares of vineyard (of which 48 in the historic 'Grand Enclos'), produced a wine of classic and austere structure. Since 2007, every bottle of Latour carries a traceability and authentication code — a guarantee of provenance.

Insight
Get to know the wine
The Chateau Latour 2007 is born from the vineyards of the 'Grand Enclos' — the heart of the domaine, 48 ha of ultra-selected vines on gravelly hills overlooking the Gironde estuary. Blend: Cabernet Sauvignon 76%,
Merlot 22%, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot 2%. Fermentation in steel and concrete, ageing in
new French oak barriques for 18-22 months. Since 2012 all the wines age in bottle at the estate
before being put up for tasting: the Grand Vin requires 10 years.
The 2007 is a difficult vintage saved by rigorous selection. The Latour 2007, as often happens for this
Chateau in difficult vintages, proves surprisingly robust and classic: dense tannins, evolution
potential still interesting. Open with 3-4 hours of decanting.
Sommelier's note
“"Deep ruby red. Cassis, plum, cedar and tobacco over a mineral base of flint. Full body with dense, dry tannins typical of Latour in its youth. Freshness dominates today — with the years, tertiary complexities of undergrowth and truffle will emerge. Austere but of great breeding. To drink from 2025, at its best 2028-2040."”
