The Winery
Château Pétrus
The most exclusive wine in Bordeaux, produced from just 11.5 hectares of Merlot on blue clay. Pétrus is synonymous with absolute perfection.

About Us
Our story
Château Pétrus is the most celebrated and expensive wine in Bordeaux, produced in the Pomerol appellation on the right bank of the Dordogne. With just 11.5 hectares planted almost entirely to Merlot on a single plateau of blue clay, Pétrus produces one of the rarest and most sought-after wines in the world.
There is no official classification in Pomerol, but Pétrus is universally recognised as the pinnacle of the appellation. Production is around 25,000 bottles per year, sold at staggering prices.
The Moueix family has run the estate since 1945. First Jean-Claude Moueix and today his son Jean-François have maintained absolute quality standards, with meticulous viticulture and strictly manual harvests.
